Several recent reviewers flagged vehicles being given away despite a confirmed reservation, and a few described cars that hadn't been cleaned or inspected between rentals — flat-ish tires, low windshield fluid, or a maintenance light already on at pickup. If you're heading straight for canyon roads and long stretches of highway, it's worth doing a walk-around of the vehicle before you drive off the lot.

Our flight out of Flagstaff was cancelled due to wildfires with no other flights out until at least the next day. We approached the Avis counter and Lucas and his manager were amazing. They got us into one way car even though technically they didn’t have any availability and it was after hours. We were so grateful for their help!

Avis was out of vehicles. My car was having issues so had to get a rental. I went with another company. They had great service, well they are all next to each other. They all were so very nice. I loved the SUV I rented.

They sent us out with a vehicle that had no wind shield washer, a back drivers side tire with a leak we had to stop to put air in everyday, plus we drove 50 to 60 miles and it showed change oil required. We turned the car in at Las Vegas airport and was told they receive alot of complaints about Flagstaff Avis.

Reserved car but they gave it away. Terrible service and no point in booking. National much better Nextdoor
