Best friends is truly an amazing place. The sanctuary, the animals that are cared for and the staff make it worthwhile to be here.

Laid-back hotel featuring a complimentary animal sanctuary shuttle, vegan breakfast & a pet park.
Best Friends Roadhouse and Mercantile is a dog-centric hotel in downtown Kanab, built by the Best Friends Animal Society and run with that same animal-welfare ethos. Rooms come with dog beds tucked under the frame, water and food bowls, and a second interior door so pets can't slip out when you open the room to the hallway. Outside there are two fenced dog parks, a self-serve dog wash, and free laundry facilities. It's an easy stop on the way to or from the North Rim, roughly 80 miles south via Highway 89A/67, and a natural base if you're also looping through Zion, Bryce, or the Vermilion Cliffs area.
The hotel holds a 4.9 rating across more than 450 Google reviews, an unusually high mark reviewers credit to the pet-focused amenities and attentive service. Non-pet travelers are just as welcome, and the front desk can arrange a sleepover visit with a sanctuary animal if you want the full Best Friends experience without bringing your own dog.

The best place I've stayed in my life! So cute. The rooms were so spacious, clean, quiet and had a little bed for my dog. So many welcoming touches. The dog spa came in handy and we loved the free breakfast.
