About

Arizona 9 Motor Hotel is a small, family-run motel on Route 66 in downtown Williams, the kind of place where the exterior undersells what's inside. Reviewers consistently note the same surprise: a plain facade giving way to clean, comfortable rooms with better beds and quieter nights than the roadside look suggests. With a 3.9 rating from 250 Google reviews, it's a solid budget pick for anyone road-tripping between Flagstaff and the South Rim.

What guests mention

The location comes up again and again — guests describe it as walking distance from just about everything in Williams' compact downtown, useful if you'd rather park once and explore on foot. Rooms come with microwaves and a decent-size fridge, and there's a small on-site setup with vending snacks and self-serve ice. Several reviewers specifically praised the husband-and-wife team running the front desk, calling them friendly and accommodating, including with larger families needing extra space.

  • Good to know: pet-friendly with a reasonable pet fee
  • Amenities: in-room microwave, fridge, wall-unit heater, complimentary parking
  • Location: 315 W Route 66, walking distance to downtown Williams

It's an older building — a few reviews mention tight bathrooms — but for the price and the location on the way to the Grand Canyon Railway depot, it consistently earns repeat stays.

When in the amazingly fun Route 66 town of Williams, Arizona, enjoy the mid-century charm of the Arizona Nine motor lodge. With a long history on the Mother Road, it is perfect for a retro stop or as a base of operations for your Grand Canyon adventure. The room was quite large and impeccably clean. The location is in the heart of the vibrant Williams main street, replete with shopping, good food, and even a wild west shoot out by the dreaded “Cataract Creek Gang.”

The room are really nice. Great location, right at the start of Williams. But don't get there early. You are not able to check-in early or offered to pay a fee to check-in early.

We made a one-day reservation and everything was great. Michael took excellent care of us, and after our trip to Sedona, we wanted to return to Williams. Luckily, they had an opening, and Michael and Lili treated us wonderfully again. Highly recommended; good price and very well located, everything within walking distance.

The room was very clean the bed was very comfortable. And they are pet friendly. The price was very good for us seniors. The only thing was was that the shower was to small and the toilet was leaning.

Great location. Nothing fancy but location sells it. Only problem was room smelled so strong of bleach had to keep window and door open for awhile.
